At the Greek National Tourism Organisation, we recognise how important it is to design and implement a website that is accessible to everyone. For this reason, we continuously strive to find solutions for our visitors who require some additional assistance while browsing our website.
Wherever possible, we follow the specifications defined by the W3C and the WAI (Web Accessibility Initiative) and the advice of individuals experienced in using a screen reader.
We have strictly followed the “Design for All” principle in order to create a highly legible website, using specific colour combinations and a clear font with a distinct size.
Useful information and advice
At the top of all our pages, you will find a shortcut which allows users who only use a keyboard to browse our website to skip the menu.
Use headings during your navigation. The website has been structured to allow screen reader shortcuts for browsing from one heading to another.
Descriptions are provided for images. All images are accompanied by text that is easily read by screen readers.
The chosen colour combinations help create contrasts that facilitate reading for people with visual impairments. If you do not like the default colour choice, you can change the colour (skin) via the “select colour” shortcut.
If the font size is not suitable for you, you can change it without affecting the page layout.
